Assalaamu ‘Alaikum ISBUers!
There are some pretty great events coming up and here is a quick break down, so get out your calendars and mark down what you like:
1. New England International Donors is sponsoring, Philanthropy and Disaster: Learning from Pakistan and Haiti, on Thursday, November 4th from 5:30pm to 7:00pm at the Boston University College of Arts and Sciences (725 Commonwealth Avenue), Room 522.
The event will feature Dr. Adil Najam, a Boston University professor, who will engage a distinguished panel of speakers in a discussion around the work on the ground in Pakistan and the US philanthropic response.

2. The Islamic Society of Boston University (yours truly) is hosting, ISBU Eid Dinner, on Sunday, October 17th from 7:00pm to 10:00pm at the George Sherman Union Metcalf Hall (775 Commonwealth Avenue).
The event will feature Shaykh Suheil Laher as the guest speaker who will be addressing, “From Dawn Till Dusk: Fasting Across Faiths.” The event is completely complimentary and will include a full three course meal, generously catered by Azama Grill.
Speaking of the Eid Dinner, ISBU is looking for volunteers to help with the event. If you are interested in helping out, please e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll send you the details!
3. The Islamic Society of Boston University (yours truly) is now hosting, Weekly Halaqaats! The next halaqah is to be held tomorrow, Saturday, October 16th, 2010, from 4:30pm to 5:30pm at the Musallah (GSU 2nd Floor, 775 Commonwealth Avenue). Brother Ziad will be hosting these halaqaat and has asked for the following message to be passed on regarding tomorrow’s halaqah:
Please bring your notes and for those who came to the last halaqah, there will be a brothers study session right before from 3:00pm to 4:00pm, inshaAllah.
