Barakat’s 4th Annual Walk for Literacy

Take a step forward for education!

In Afghanistan, only 18% of women are literate. Through Barakat, just $40 can educate a girl for an entire year!

Help them advance education in South and Central Asia by joining them for Barakat’s third annual Walk for Literacy on October 29.  Enjoy a 2.5 or 5-mile scenic walk through Cambridge, fun performances, breakfast, lunch and great raffle prizes!  Teams and individuals are welcome, and all proceeds will go to supporting our schools and programs in Afghanistan, Pakistan and India.  Stick around for family activities including henna tattoos!

Where: Cambridge Common, just north of Harvard Square, Cambridge, Massachusetts (see map)

When: Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 10:00 am (check-in and late registration start at 9:00 am)

How much: It’s only $25 per person now! On the day of the walk, it’s $40 per person at the door
