On Sunday, October 6th, over 320 attendees gathered in celebration of the upcoming holiday, Eid-Al-Adha. Muslims and Non-Muslims alike enjoyed an enlightening talk by Imam Shamsi Ali from NYC on overcoming stress. Many students found the theme of the discussion particularly applicable in the midst of midterm season. Once the talk concluded, dinner was served! Taste buds were excited with a delicious Egyptian meal catered by Doha’s Catering. The menu included grilled and fried chicken, traditional rice, hummus, beshamal macaroni, a colorful salad, and a roasted mix of vegetables. The room quickly filled with chatter as old and new friends caught up with each other. In the background, Islamic Songs by artists such as Maher Zain, played along with a slideshow of pictures of past ISBU events. The night was capped off with authentic Middle Eastern desserts, kanafa and baklava. Attendees left with full stomachs and full hearts after a night of inspiration, food, and fun!
